Collegiate Bass Anglers Association

Collegiate Bass Anglers Association (CBAA) is an organization that is concerned about the "graying" of the American angler and realizes the potential implications it has for the future of sport fishing and angling-related industries. CBAA is dedicated to the recruitment of future generations of anglers to help insure that our rich angling heritage retains a solid foundation for years to come.

The CBAA is committed to the education of youth and young adults in the venues of recreational and competitive angling by focusing on both conventional and CBAA’s "edu-tainment" based programming. Increased numbers of youthful anglers will enhance the angling climate and result in improved sales and profits for sport fishing and related industries as well as tax revenue needed to support outdoor and conservation based programs.

The CBAA strives to promote sportsmanship through competitive angling and the development of intercollegiate and interscholastic sport fishing clubs. Furthermore, CBAA believes in developing the whole angler and will partner with leaders in outdoor industries to establish and administer scholarship and internship programs, facilitating the successful transition from student athlete to productive professional. This insures that student athletes receive the necessary professional experience to position themselves for advancement and future leadership positions. These core values coupled with prevailing national popularity of competitive angling signal favorable conditions for this endeavor.

The CBAA is a competition-based vehicle, functioning uniquely as a national, not for profit organization, for the promotion and enhancement of intercollegiate angling. CBAA is dedicated to elevating the sport to new levels, changing the face of collegiate angling, and bring it exposure to places where bass fishing has never been. CBAA is not just another fishing organization throwing its line into tournament waters. Bass fishing is an exciting sport and we want to share it with student athletes, presenting it with both passion and style.

The CBAA will provide collegiate anglers a venue for stiff peer competition through divisional, regional, and national competition and remain vigilant in providing the principal vehicle for young anglers to excel in the areas of personal, professional, and angling development. The CBAA is committed and driven to be the benchmark of collegiate angling. The CBAA will bridge the gap between current youth programs and professional angling, while fostering a greater appreciation for the great outdoors. The CBAA is unique in its purpose, its constituency, and confident in its future.
